“I’ve been fortunate to be on a Super Bowl team before and I remember how special that was, almost 10 years ago, and it was just as special tonight.” Peyton Manning
This game was a spectacular display of football mental toughness, football confidence and how the players used psychology in football to stay composed and defeat. There is no doubt Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers are a great team, so why did they lose? Was it mental?
The Carolina Panthers as would be expected rallied strongly behind their man, Cam Newton. Cam commenced the ground game with Stewart hurting. Stewart plunged in from 1- yard out to take down Bronco’s lead to 10-7. The Panthers’ defense then took an aggressive style at the line afterwards. Their defense was humbled by the Broncos. Newton struggled and appeared to have lost confidence and could not regroup.
The opposing team had its strong points. The defensive team was unstoppable. Their football confidence and mental toughness gave them the winning edge.
These were the words of Coach Gary Kubiak concerning Peyton Manning after his team the Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10 to carry home the Super Bowl 50 championship title. “I told him how proud I was of him. I could sit here all night and tell you about the meetings he and I went through over the course of the last 10 weeks when he was injured, working his way back battling his way back for the football team and he comes back and leads this group at the end, you know it was very, very special for him to be part of.”
Although the Denver Broncos had a lower season’s record (12-4) than the Carolina Panthers and despite the fact that they had a low point during the time that Peyton suffered a devastating football injury, they proved to be more mentally prepared.
They were constantly in control. Miller was as swift as lightening, getting around to the Panthers.
The Super Bowl 50 was generally interesting with the teams showing how mental preparation in football and staying mentally tough can lead to a spectacular play and victory in the Super Bowl.
The Broncos prevailed in this game because of Manning’s guidance, a strong defensive team and their mental preparation. This combination and being mentally tough lead the Broncos to their ultimate glory.
In games like this where both teams are equal strong physically; the team who is mentally tough wins.
