“Everyone has their own experience. That’s why we are here, to go through our experience, to learn to go down those paths and eventually you may have gone down so many paths and learned so much that you don’t have to come back again.” Prince Rodgers Nelson
The great Prince is an icon that will be remembered for many reasons. He was a talented man, with a career spanned over a period of forty years into one of the biggest world successes ever. Who and what Prince was can never be duplicated.
The legend Prince was one of a kind and will be remembered not only in the music scene but the sports world as well.
He will be remembered for many things, among them; being a Stephen Curry fan and for his sterling performance at the Super Bowl in 2007.
Prince was originally from Minneapolis, but he was known as an unrelenting fan of Stephen Curry’s. He is even reported to have once said, “What can you truly count on besides Steph Curry? And you can count on Steph Curry.”
True to Prince’s word, the Warriors beat their opponents that day, with Curry putting up 33 points all by himself. Steph Curry is known as a player that displays mental toughness, and perhaps that is the trait that led to Prince’s attraction to his personality.
Through his mental game basketball, Curry was able to prove Prince’s point on his reliability right. Prince personally attended Step’s games, which goes further to show that he was indeed a Curry super-fan.
The greatest thing that perhaps Prince will be remembered for is his performance at the Super Bowl in 2007. The way he hit the stage when he started to perform is nothing short of sensational.
He began his half-time performance with the words; “Dearly beloved, we are here to get through this thing called life,”
It was raining during his performance, but it did not stop him. Even when among the great football minds, he was able to deliver way beyond anybody’s expectations. He gave life to an otherwise ordinary game.
His performance that day went down in the history as outstanding. He ended his show that day with his great hit ‘Purple Rain’ as the whole stadium lighted up in purple lights and the audience made use of their glow sticks.
In this show, as he sang his song, it rained! At the end of his performance, he got a standing ovation from the crowd, which is a rare occurrence even for the NFL players themselves.
Prince will be remembered as a great personality with significant abilities. People that worked closely with him define him as someone who could not take no for an answer. He always did what he felt was right, and that is what led to his stardom.
Rest in Peace. You will be truly missed.
