Part III of IV – Caring and Citizenship
As an NFL player or any player you must develop the qualities of caring and citizenship to become the type of player that will be well known and well looked upon as well as popular. These traits come from having a strong sense of football confidence and understanding the psychology in football. Now you might ask how do these two things play into caring and citizenship? Simple. If you take your role as an NFL player seriously then you realize you must become a caring and good citizen in the community in which you live to be respected on and off the field.
What does this look like? A big part of being an NFL player is becoming involved in some sort of charity or volunteer work in your community. Whether it be visiting a hospital ward during the off-season to see the kids there and sign footballs for them or creating your own charity, both of these represent caring and citizenship.
When building character football psychology tools can help you with this if your nature doesn’t lend itself to that type of thing which is common among NFL players. That’s nothing to be held against you as your primary role is playing ball. This is something that you can seek out assistance with so that you can become the type of professional player that has a huge impact on your community, team and fans.
Many NFL players may show these two traits by going back to the high school or grade school that they attended to encourage the kids there to be caring and good citizens in their community. It can also encourage them to work hard and succeed at whatever their dreams may be.
A football mind goes beyond the playbook, it includes these types of traits as well. It takes into consideration that as an NFL professional player you set an example not just for the fans but for the community and team as a whole. And this is what draws fans in and sells tickets as well as gives you, the player a sense of positive influence and accomplishment.
Worry not if you do not have these traits. Football psychology can help you to understand and develop them so that you can reach your potential in all areas of representation as an NFL player.
